When a young athlete, struggling with his sprinting, is set an ultimatum by his coach, he gets a surprise visit from a couple of unconventional superheroes - Motivation Man and his trusty sidekick The Determination Kid. The superheroes put the young athlete through their own unique training programme combining physical fitness, mental toughness and a lot of raw eggs. In the end, his hard work and determination pays off and he manages to shave more than 2 seconds off his time overnight, much to the amazement of his coach.
This film was made as part of the Film Nation Olympic Shorts 2012 competition. Our school collaborated with a production company 'Chocolate Films' where myself a 3 other A-Level films studies students along with 10 & 11 Media students took part. We got to use industry standard equipment such as boom mics and DSLR's. The short film was was entered into the "Flipside Youth Film Festival and achieved 3rd place. It was a great experience and led me on to do another project with chocolate films where we had a horror themed pop-up cinema in Tooting Market.
